La consejera de Cultura y Turismo, Mar\u00eda Josefa Garc\u00eda Cirac, acompa\u00f1ada del presidente del Club Ciclista Cadalsa y director general de la carrera, Laudelino Cubino, ha presentado hoy la XXXIV Vuelta Ciclista a Castilla y Le\u00f3n, que se disputar\u00e1 entre el 25 y el 27 de abril y discurrir\u00e1 por el Camino de Santiago a su paso por Castilla y Le\u00f3n. Garc\u00eda Cirac ha destacado que el Gobierno auton\u00f3mico \u201cha estado, est\u00e1 y estar\u00e1 siempre impulsando y apoyando estas grandes competiciones deportivas, por su valor deportivo, tur\u00edstico y econ\u00f3mico y social\u201d.<\/p>\n
For this reason, the organization, with the support of the Regional Government, has linked the route of this race in many editions to various cultural, heritage, and tourism events and resources in the region, such as the Ages of Man, the World Heritage Cities, the Northern Romanesque, the Silver Route, the Teresian Jubilee Year, and the mining basins, as they are a factor in the development of these territories.<\/p>\n
This tourism potential is fully realized in this year's edition, as the three stages will follow one of the region's greatest tourist attractions: the Camino de Santiago. Cyclists will ride alongside pilgrims, highlighting the monuments along this route, the towns they pass through, their history, and the spirituality they embody.<\/p>\n
The starting and finishing municipalities for each of this year's three stages are: Belorado and Castrojeriz, in Burgos, on April 25, covering 181 kilometers; Fr\u00f3mista and Villada, in Palencia, on April 26, covering 170.3 kilometers; and Le\u00f3n and Villafranca del Bierzo, on Saturday, April 27, covering 165.6 kilometers.
