A breakaway of 10 riders managed to break through. Guillaume Boivin (Israel CA), Jetse Bol and Jes\u00fas Ezquerra (Burgos-BH), Diego Ochoa (Manzana Postobon), Brenton Jones (Delko Marseille), \u00c1ngel S\u00e1nchez (W52-FC Porto), Gotzon Mart\u00edn (Euskadi), Paco Mancebo (Matrix-Powertag), Henrique Casimiro (Efapel), and Frederico Figueiredo (Sporting-Tavira) each had a lead of almost seven minutes.<\/p>\n<p>However, the trailing peloton was again cut off by the Movistar Team&#039;s strong pace and the crosswind, which left them practically down to 25 riders. The breakaway was ended within the final 15 kilometers after a constant battle.
