This was explained by the Director General of Sports, Mar\u00eda Perrino, during the presentation of the competition, which is now in its 35th year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coinciding with the 2021 celebration of the Jacobean Year, the 35th edition of this sporting event, organized by the Cadalsa cycling club and sponsored by the Regional Government of Castile and Le\u00f3n, will cover unique sections of the Camino de Santiago as it passes through Le\u00f3n. The cycling event will consist of a challenging stage that will cross the province of Le\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Director of Sports recalled that the 35th edition of the International Cycling Tour of Castile and Le\u00f3n was unfortunately disrupted as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, so it was suspended approximately one month before its celebration. &quot;This year, 2021, we are regaining hope with this edition, which returns to a certain degree of normality,&quot; she said, adding that&nbsp;<strong>&quot;The date of July 29 has been carefully chosen, as it places it among the best events on the national cycling calendar and where important national and international teams will meet.&quot;<\/strong>, as part of their preparation for the grand tours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year&#039;s route will be linked to the Camino de Santiago, an icon of Spanish and Castile-Le\u00f3n cultural heritage, and will traverse sites and gems of the Camino de Santiago as it passes through Castile-Le\u00f3n. The route starts in the city of Le\u00f3n, passing through sites that showcase the region&#039;s natural and cultural heritage. The finish in Ponferrada will reveal the winner of the 35th Vuelta Ciclista a Castilla y Le\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A total of 16 teams will participate,<\/strong>&nbsp;with up to four UCI World Teams.
