They were caught with just under 50 kilometers remaining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From then on, there were several attacks by single riders, pairs, and even eight riders, all of which failed to materialize. Men like the Italian Vincenzo Nibali; the Biscayan rider from the Movistar Team, I\u00f1igo Elosegui; the &quot;Chinese American&quot; Sean Bennett; the Norwegian Vegard Laengen, now recovered from the Covid-19 that kept him out of the Tour; and Kern Pharma&#039;s Eugenio S\u00e1nchez\u2026 all played a minimal role. The peloton awaited the final sprint.
