La XXXIV Vuelta Ciclista a Castilla y León se disputará del 25 al 27 de abril en su edición de 2019 y su recorrido estará asociado al Camino de Santiago a su paso por la Comunidad, con un itinerario de 516,9 kilómetros.
Las localidades por las que discurrirán sus etapas jalonan esta ruta cultural y servirán de hilo conductor de la carrera. Los ciclistas participantes transitarán de este a oeste por el norte de la Comunidad a través de las provincias de Burgos, Palencia y León, para proclamar al campeón de esta edición de la competición deportiva por excelencia de Castilla y León. De este modo, este evento aunará deporte y patrimonio cultural en un formato de tres etapas que comenzarán en Belorado (Burgos) y concluirán en Villafranca del Bierzo.
This tourism potential is fully realized in this year's edition, as the three stages will follow one of the region's greatest tourist attractions: the Camino de Santiago. Cyclists will ride alongside pilgrims, highlighting the monuments along this route, the towns they pass through, their history, and the spirituality they embody.
The starting and finishing municipalities for each of this year's three stages are: Belorado and Castrojeriz, in Burgos, on April 25, covering 181 kilometers; Frómista and Villada, in Palencia, on April 26, covering 170.3 kilometers; and León and Villafranca del Bierzo, on Saturday, April 27, covering 165.6 kilometers. A total of 17 teams from Spain, Portugal, France, Israel, the USA, Colombia, Norway, Japan, and Russia will participate.
