The 38th International Cycling Tour of Castile and León, transformed this edition into International Classic to Castile and León, will be held this coming July 23 in a single day with a route of 199.7 kilometers between Valladolid and La Cistérniga. In a decision motivated by constant budget adjustments, the Organization made the decision to make a significant change in its format for this year 2024 in which the triumph It will be played in a single day which is expected to be full of great emotion and spectacularity with bold bets for the final victory in one of the most historic events on the professional calendar.
The designed route will begin in Valladolid, next to the Zorrilla Square, and will end in the town of Valladolid The Cisterniga after overcoming five third-category highs: Robladillo (kilometer 15.4), The Gorge (kilometer 81.5), Portillo (kilometer 88.1), The Armedilla (kilometer 145) and Olive groves(kilometers 155.8). The participation of teams and cyclists who will attend the event will be another top-class edition, which will allow to see a high competitive level worthy of a test that has in its list of winners figures of the caliber of Miguel Indurain, Alberto Contador, Alejandro Valverde, Aleksandr Vinokurov or Simon Yates, among others.
The race will feature six UCI World Teams, eight UCI Pro Teams, and three UCI Continental teams. A total of 17 squads from 10 different nationalities will make up a large field for this edition. Six teams will be Spanish, while the remaining teams will be composed of three teams from France, and one each from the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Australia, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, the Philippines, and Colombia.
The UCI World Teams Movistar Team, UAE Team Emirates, Astana Qazaqstan Team, Cofidis, Team Jayco Alula, and Arkea B&B Hotels will be present. They will also be joined by the UCI Pro Teams Burgos BH, Lotto Dstny, Euskatel – Euskadi, Team Polti Kometa, Team Kern Pharma, Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team, Caja Rural – Seguros RGA, and Totalenergies, and the UCI Continental Teams Illes Balears Arabay Cycling, Victoria Sport Pro Cycling, and Colombia Potencia de la Vida.
