The 38th International Cycling Classic arrives in Castile and León

Enrique Sánchez-Guijo, Director General of Sports, presented this morning in Valladolid the 10thXXVIII International Cycling ClassicThe test will take place next Tuesday. July 23 on the route that connects Valladolid with La Cistérniga, offering cycling enthusiasts a day of entertainment.

The event was also attended by prominent figures from the world of cycling, such as Ivan Romero, a professional cyclist, as well as the Sports Councilor of the Valladolid City Council, Mayte Martínez; Alberto Redondo, the mayor of La Cistérniga; and the race's general director, Laudeino Cubino. Their presence underscores the event's importance, not only on a sporting level but also as an event of great social significance.

"One-Day Classic" as a novelty

This year, the edition has an important peculiarity and that is that the format will be "one-day classic"The modality, which has been gaining popularity on the world circuit, will consist of an obstacle-free course of 199.7 kilometers, which will demand cyclists' endurance and strategy.

The race It will start in Valladolid and will reach La Cistérniga, which is already preparing to welcome cyclists with enthusiasm. The change in format aims to increase the excitement and competition for spectators, providing them with a more dynamic experience.

Participants

As in past editions, the event organizer, the Cadalsa Cycling Club, has contracted the participation of professional teams, both in the UCI World Team category, as well as Continental Professionals and UCI Continentals. The competition will feature the participation of all Spanish professional teams, as well as international teams that will enhance the competition's quality.

Each team will have seven cyclists and seven technicians and assistants, which adds up to a total of 210 people which will be essential for the course of the race.

The 38th edition is an opportunity to celebrate sport and promote the region internationally.
