The first stage will start today from Benavente with changes to the route.

The 36th edition of the Vuelta Ciclista a Castilla y León begins at 1:55 p.m. Burgos BH will be competing, with Aranda-born cyclist Mario Aparicio in its ranks. The fires that have occurred in Zamora in recent days forced a change in the route of the first stage yesterday. The organizers communicated the incident, stating: "We are announcing a change in the route of the first stage, which will start in Benavente and finish in Morales del Vino, as originally planned. The distance has finally been shortened to 156.7 kilometers, thus avoiding transit through towns at risk of fires in the province of Zamora. Likewise, this organization would like to express its solidarity with the towns and people affected by the fires along the route of this first stage, as well as with all the municipalities affected by the fires this summer in Castilla y León."

The second stage will be held tomorrow, Thursday, in Guijuelo, with four climbs near the Sierra de Béjar mountains that will undoubtedly allow for adventures for powerful riders seeking an advantageous position in the race. The following Burgos BH riders will participate in the Vuelta a Castilla y León: Mario Aparicio, Ángel Madrazo, Juan Antonio López-Cózar, Jesús Ezquerra, Ángel Fuentes, Dani Navarro, and Manuel Peñalver.

The Burgos club's goal is to prepare for the Vuelta a España. Before that, they will also participate in the Vuelta a Burgos. Mario will try to earn a spot in the Vuelta a España, just like the rest of his teammates. Being at the start of the grand Spanish tour would be an exceptional reward for the cyclist from Ribera.
