The 38th edition of the Castilla y León International Cycling Classic, which will be held on July 23rd under the organization of the Cadalsa Cycling Club, will feature six UCI World Teams, eight UCI Pro Teams, and three UCI Continental teams. A total of 17 teams from 10 different nationalities will make up a large field for this edition.
Six teams will be Spanish, while the remaining teams will be composed of three from France, and one each from the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Australia, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, the Philippines, and Colombia. Of particular note will be the UCI World Teams: Movistar Team, UAE Team Emirates, Astana Qazaqstan Team, Cofidis, Team Jayco Alula, and Arkea B&B Hotels, all top-flight teams participating in the Castilian-Leonese event, which in this edition will be contested over a single day due to budgetary adjustments.
Along with them, the UCI Pro Teams: Burgos BH, Lotto Dstny, Euskatel – Euskadi, Team Polti Kometa, Team Kern Pharma, Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team, Caja Rural – Seguros RGA and Totalenergies, and the UCI Continental Teams: Illes Balears Arabay Cycling, Victoria Sport Pro Cycling and Colombia Potencia de la Vida. Thus, the participation of teams and cyclists who will attend the Castilian-Leonese event will once again be top-class, which will allow us to see a high competitive level worthy of an event that boasts illustrious cycling figures on its list of winners.
The route, designed by the Cadalsa Cycling Club, will be 199.7 kilometers long and will begin in Valladolid, next to Plaza Zorrilla, and finish in the Valladolid town of La Cistérniga after passing five third-category climbs: Robladillo (kilometer 15.4), La Garganta (kilometer 81.5), Portillo (kilometer 88.1), La Armedilla (kilometer 145), and Olivares (kilometer 155.8). 'Por la Ribera del Duero' is the motto of a Castilla y León Classic, which will once again showcase some of the hallmarks of Castilla y León, as well as its rich natural and cultural heritage.
